Welcome to Emotion Regulation Skills!
Learning to identify and label your emotions is the first step towards greater emotional well-being!
In part 1.1 of this module, we'll learn:
- Explore the World of Emotions: Here we begin by discussing the full spectrum of emotions and how they manifest themselves in your life.
- Identify Your Emotional Landscape: Try to identify the specific emotions you experience and understand their triggers.
- Address Unwanted Emotions: Let’s look closer at the emotions you’d like to change and explore the underlying reasons behind them.
In part 1.2 of this module, we'll learn:
- Explore the tool Model of Emotions and learn to use it: It incorporates all the components of an emotional response and helps you to breakdown what happened.
- Emotions are complex and a full system response: And if you can breakdown the parts you can gain control over them. Try reading through and using the definitions of emotions in the handouts to add to your understanding.
- Mindfulness of Current Emotions: A skill that helps you become more aware of your emotions while also helping you to further observe and describe your emotions.
In part 1.3 of this module, we'll learn:
- Opposite Action: Shifting Emotional Patterns: Discover how to use opposite action to effectively change unwanted emotions.
- Problem Solving: Identifying Triggers and Solutions: We'll work together to understand the triggers behind your emotions and develop practical solutions.
- Checking the Facts: Gaining Clarity: Learn how to use fact-checking to challenge unhelpful thoughts and emotions.
This Module is comprised of 3 sections: Each Section includes a presentation module, multiple handouts, and video links for skill building.
