Welcome to the Start of DBT — Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the foundation of all DBT skills. It helps you observe your thoughts and feelings without judgment, stay grounded in the present moment, and respond rather than react. This module will teach you how to build awareness, reduce emotional overwhelm, and increase self-compassion.

Below You’ll find the DBT Module on Mindfulness to flip through at your own pace and in the additional videos and resources you’ll find video’s that illustrate the skills in multiple ways to help with your learning. As well there are attached handout and diary cards to make the module interactive and give you the tools you need for success.

As you go use the diary card to track your daily progress. Try checkin in with yourself before you try a skill noting what number your at on the scale and then again after trying it to see if it’s helping. And for bonus points, you can also use the sentence structures in your journaling. They’re on the right side of the diary card and help us to develop a growth mindset.
